There is a move to close broad areas of South East Florida to fishing, force registration of fishing gear in certain areas and to ban spearfishing on scuba in the entire area. Should these proposals move forward, they will lead to an anti-fishing crusade in all areas of the Atlantic and the Gulf. Recently, FWC Commissioners have been bombarded with input from the sector separation crowd that is contrary to input from the recreational fishing community. Anglers have been greatly outnumbered by pro sector separation people at recent meetings. The FWC meets in Tallahassee tomorrow.Â Let the Commissioners hear from you now. The Secretary of Commerce signed Amendment 40, sector separation, into law on April 22, 2015. The next step is simple: Litigation. We only have a thirty day window to file a lawsuit.
